Davide Nicola insists he is ‘not worried’ after Torino lost 2-0 to Napoli and remains confident relegation will be ‘a fight to the end.’

The Granata were never able to recover after a shock start, with Tiemoue Bakayoko’s goal followed by Victor Osimhen 120 seconds later.

“I think we need to tip our hats to Napoli, because we faced a really strong team this evening, but at the same time we never gave up,” Nicola told Sky Sport Italia.

“The opener was a fantastic strike, but we could’ve done better on the second, even if we were unlucky on the ricochet. After a one-two blow like that, most teams would’ve lost belief, but we didn’t.

“We had the chances to get back into the game and continued to believe right to the end. Napoli deserved the win, but we played our game.”

Torino are now level on 31 points with Benevento and Cagliari, but have a game in hand to be played away to Lazio on May 18.

“We picked up four points from the last three games against very strong teams. A defeat to a side with the quality of Napoli can happen.

“The lads gave their all. I am not worried. We’re aware that it’ll be a fight to the end. We earned some important results to reach this level and drag the other teams into the race.

“A defeat to Napoli will not sap us of our self-esteem. I’d only have been worried if I had seen a team that didn’t believe to the end.”
