Alessio Romagnoli hailed a ‘fundamental victory’ against Benevento, but also hinted he wants more playing time and left his future open.

“I’d always like to play. The coach makes the decisions, I am ready to give my all whenever I am called upon. The most important thing is the common good and that means getting Milan into the Champions League.

“We know that we’ve had some ups and downs lately, but we have to isolate ourselves and focus entirely on our work. Now we must prepare and go into the game with Juventus in the best possible shape.”

Considering this was his first start in two months, Romagnoli was asked if there was any news on his future at Milan.

“That is a question for the directors, not for me.”
