Paulo Fonseca will not continue at Roma beyond the current season, as the club has already confirmed former United coach Jose Mourinho’s arrival in the Italian capital this summer.

But the current coach still have a Europa League Final to play for, even if it would require a heroic feat when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men arrive tonight.

Fonseca should confirm the 3-4-2-1 formation and Borja Mayoral should be back on the bench, with Pellegrini as an attacking midfielder behind Dzeko.

Former United forward Mkhitaryan is expected to complete the attacking trident, but Fonseca must cope without Pau Lopez, Jordan Veretout, Leonardo Spinazzola and Stephan El Shaarawy.

Amadou Diawara will also miss out on the return leg, meaning Gonzalo Villar and Bryan Cristante should start in the middle.

Gianluca Mancini, Chris Smalling and Roger Ibanez are expected to play in defence, whilst Antonio Mirante seems set to start in goal.

Pedro Rodriguez should be available for tonight’s match but will start on the bench.

Manchester United are expected to arrive in a 4-2-3-1 formation and the Norwegian coach is expected to rest Fred, Juan Mata and Edinson Cavani.

David de Gea should start in goal, whilst Alex Telles seems set to get the nod over Luke Shaw at left.

Nemanja Matic and Scott McTominay could start in the middle, while Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford seems set to start behind Mason Greenwood.

Roma (probable): Mirante; Mancini, Smalling, Ibanez; Karsdorp, Villar, Cristante, Bruno Peres; Pellegrini, Mkhitaryan; Dzeko

Man Utd (probable): De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Bailly, Maguire, Telles; Matic, McTominay; Pogba, Bruno Fernandes, Rashford; Greenwood
