Cagliari coach Leonardo Semplici felt his men ‘should have done more’ after the 0-0 draw with Fiorentina at the Sardegna Arena.

The Rossoblu picked up another point in the battle for safety in Serie A but the coach was not completely happy with the return.

“We could and should have done more, we could have finished our championship,” Semplici told DAZN.

“But it was not easy physically and mentally. We faced a good team that didn’t leave us with much space.

“We wanted to bring it to the end like this, but we need more points to reach the target.”

The coach said he will sit down with the managers and the President after the season, but stressed he’s only focused on saving Cagliari.

“I’m committed to my target; safety,” he said. “When we get there, I will speak with the President and the directors, but now I’m only focused on the last two games.

“I have to recharge, Sunday at San Siro against Milan will be very difficult."
