Ivan Juric’s assistant Matteo Paro warns Hellas Verona ‘will create trouble for Napoli’ in the last game of the season.

The former midfielder was on the sidelines to replace the suspended Juric in their game against Bologna that ended in a 2-2 stalemate.

“We conceded two strange goals with deflected shots,” Paro said at a press conference.

“We created many goal-scoring opportunities, the lads wanted to win so badly. We couldn’t manage to do so, but they must be happy. To finish in tenth place is worth as much as a Scudetto to us.”

The Gialloblu travel to the Stadio Maradona on Sunday to face a Napoli side involved in the race to qualify for the Champions League. A win would allow the Azzurri to snatch a top four finish.

“We’ll play our game, we’ll try to create trouble for Napoli,” Paro said.

“We know they are a strong team, right now even more. They play good football and have a target to reach, but we have our goals too.”

Juric has been critical of Verona’s directors of late, does Paro expect him to stay at Verona?

“We can still improve, we’ll see. The coach will talk to the President, we are united and serene. We’ll find the best way to plan the next season," the coach concluded.
