Fabio Capello believes Antonio Conte can dominate with Inter and Andrea Pirlo has found his Juventus identity, but ‘watch out for Atalanta in the next Scudetto race.’

The former Roma, Juve, Milan and England boss spoke to the Corriere dello Sport newspaper as we go into the final round this evening.

“Andrea Pirlo had to settle down and that took time. Going from player to coach is a completely different profession, and seeing as he had never even worked with a youth team, he ended up paying a price for that adjustment period,” said Capello.

“I think lately he has worked on some precise ideas, leaving out those he ought to leave out, based on his ideas, and playing those who can get the style of football he wants. Juve now have a recognisable identity, based on determination.”

Conte is one of the most experienced coaches in Europe and won the Scudetto with Inter in only his second season.

“Without doubt, he could start a new three-year cycle, unless of course he is forced to sell players. At this moment, there’s so much unknown out there.

“What I will say is this: watch out for Atalanta in the next Scudetto race. They have no debts, an excellent coach and a President who understands football.

“They even have money to invest. Just look at how they resolved losing Papu Gomez, who was a very important player for them.”
