Mario Beretta realises Cesena are practically relegated, but hopes to give the fans “something more” with a derby victory over Bologna today.

The Sea Horses are propping up the table and a whopping 14 points away from safety, so already preparing for next season in Serie B.

“We prepared very well for this challenge, as now we have to send an important signal to our fans. This is the time to give something more,” said the Coach.

“The situation is difficult and it is up to us to win back the affection of our supporters. We really want to impress in this game, as we know how much our fans care about the derby.

“We are coming off a good performance against Lecce and need to find some consistency so that the team can rediscover its confidence and put together a run of positive results.

Bologna have quality in all areas of the squad and a great Coach in Stefano Pioli. We want to beat them, but we know it won’t be easy.”
