Lazio reportedly have a plan to tempt Milan stopper Alessandro Nesta back to the club over the summer.

The 36-year-old’s future is in some doubt given that the defender will be out of contract with the Rossoneri in June.

It is unclear at this time whether the Diavolo will offer him a new 12-month agreement once this campaign comes to an end.

Nesta, who last week insisted that he would not be joining friend Andrea Pirlo at Juventus, has options open to him.

He could quit entirely, move to America or re-join hometown club Lazio – an outfit which he joined at the age of nine and only left in 2002 as financial issues forced his sale to Milan.

Lazio chief Claudio Lotito apparently wants to offer the centre-back a one-year playing contract with the promise of a director’s role for the future.
