The Juventus and Italian international has his critics, including sections of the Bianconero support who have jeered him this term.

Giovinco returned to Turin in the summer, at a cost of €11m, after spending the last two seasons at Parma – firstly on loan and then on a co-ownership.

The No 12 is the club’s joint top scorer this season with 11 goals in all competitions – the same number as Mirko Vucinic and Fabio Quagliarella.

However, some of his critics argue that he doesn’t score enough decisive or crucial goals for the Old Lady.
