Mazzarri: 'Napoli are sharp again'

Walter Mazzarri complimented Napoli on their victory over Genoa that took them four points clear of Milan, even if they wasted yet another penalty.

“We are not looking at anyone else’s position in the table, as we have to focus on ourselves,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia after a 2-0 win.

“We are going through a good period of form and I was happy that we kept a clean sheet. Genoa are a quality side and we did well to dominate them.”

Napoli now have a four-point advantage in second place ahead of next week’s encounter with Milan.

“We will prepare with real focus, as the Rossoneri have fought back remarkably well to catch up numerous sides. I don’t have to do much work firing them up for this game, as they know full well what it means.

“We already have more points than at this stage last season and are growing constantly, so it is fundamental to achieve Champions League qualification.

“Napoli have returned to being aggressive and determined, but above all sharp physically.”

Cavani had yet another penalty saved after Marek Hamsik’s error last month.

“I had given my players some advice on how to take penalties, but they didn’t follow it!”
