PSG, eliminated by Barcelona in the Champions League last week, fell at the quarter-final stage last night after losing on penalties to Evian Thonon Gaillard.

“We weren't able to make the difference tonight,” the Italian international commented following their shock loss.

“Now we have to turn our attentions back to Ligue 1 because we want to win the title.”

PSG, who signed Verratti from Pescara for €12m, are nine points clear of Marseille at the top of the table with six games left to play.

Meanwhile, Italian tactician Carlo Ancelotti wasn’t left impressed with the efforts of his PSG players on Wednesday.

“This is a bitter disappointment, especially the attitude shown by the team,” stated the former Parma, Milan and Juventus” data-scaytid=”19″>Juventus Coach.

“Anyone can lose a match of football, but we didn't have any character out on the pitch. We missed a lot of passes.

“Sometimes this season, when the team was totally focused, we played some great matches of football like against Barcelona.

“The season isn't over yet though.”
