Inter forward Diego Milito insists he still has much to offer the Nerazzurri in the immediate and longer term.

The striker has struggled since returning from a long term injury and his future at San Siro has recently come under scrutiny.

“After a year out and at 34 years old it’s not easy,” Milito admitted to reporters today.

“But I am convinced that I can still offer this squad a lot and I will do my best until the end.

“Doing my talking on the pitch is the only way, I need to work very hard.

“I want to be fit and help the team. I’m going to do all I can for the shirt, then we’ll see what happens.

“I am available on Saturday.”

The Argentine also commented on his team’s hopes for the rest of the season and their upcoming game with Fiorentina.

“All matches are important, especially the game against Sassuolo after a run of negative results.

“That was a good win and we hope to go into Saturday’s game in the right condition.

“We’re taking things game by game, we can’t think about what might or might not happen in the future.

“I hope the win last Sunday can be a springboard. Now we have a game at a very difficult place like Florence and we will look to do our best.”

The Champions League winner was then asked about some of his teammates.

“Hernanes is a player of great quality and everyone knows it. He can add quality to our midfield, he showed it last Sunday and in the future he can be important for us.

“I have said many times that Icardi can offer so much both now and in the future. Unfortunately he has had injuries and it’s not easy being out for two or three months.

“He can do what he wants in his private life, I’m talking about things on the pitch and a player who has proven quality.

“Botta is a very important player with a lot of quality and a great personality.

“Sometimes there are periods where it’s hard to score but the goals will come for myself and Palacio.

“This period just needs to come and go.”
