Lorenzo Insigne has revealed that Alex Del Piero, Javier Zanetti and Antonio Conte all called him to cheer him up after the injury.
The Italy international sustained a ruptured crucial ligament during Napoli’s 1-0 victory at Fiorentina.
Whilst it means that he will miss the remainder of the season, Insigne said that he has drawn strength from the encouragement he has received these days.
“I am happy to have had some great legends calling me,” Insigne told Sky Italia today.
“Alex Del Piero, Javier Zanetti and Antonio Conte all called me [to cheer me up]. I am really happy about all the phone calls.
“Now I must stay calm and recover as soon as possible, but the most important thing is to react positively mentally.
“At the moment I’m working well with Doctor De Nicola’s medical staff who made themselves available.
“The worst moment for me was when I underwent the visit at Villa Stuart and then they told me the news.”
