Roberto Donadoni saw Parma’s Coppa Italia victory over Cagliari as “an important sign we don’t want to give up.”
The Ducali are bottom of the Serie A table, but through to the quarter-finals of the Cup tournament after today’s 2-1 win.
“It was an important victory to boost morale and above all an important sign we don’t want to give up to the very end,” said Donadoni.
There was particular praise for 26-year-old full-back Andrea Rispoli, who scored the decisive goal.
“Rispoli is one of those players who I can never complain about in terms of effort. I’d love to have many players like him and he got us the victory.”
Parma will come up against Juventus or Verona in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals.
