Miha unveils new trident

Sinisa Mihajlovic confirms a new Sampdoria trident of Samuel Eto’o, Luis Muriel and Stefano Okaka against Atalanta.

It kicks off on Sunday at 14.15 GMT, click here for a match preview.

“We must make up for last season’s defeat here and bring home the three points,” said Mihajlovic in reference to their 3-0 hammering.

“Having said that, we know it’s tough to win in Bergamo and Atalanta deserved more points than they currently have. They are an organised and aggressive team in a fiery atmosphere.”

This game was originally meant to be on Saturday, but was moved when the Derby della Lanterna was rained off, so Atalanta had four days more to rest.

“As my friend Novak Djokovic always tells me, tennis players have four-hour matches and the day after are expected to do it all over again. Therefore we cannot complain about fatigue.

“It’d be better to win the derby, but the important thing is we didn’t lose. We’re not very lucky at the moment, as we tend to concede with every shot on target.”

Eder, Roberto Soriano and Pedro Obiang are all suspended, so Mihajlovic was very open and named his full starting XI.

“It will be a 4-3-3 with Viviano, De Silvestri, Silvestre, Romagnoli, Regini, Acquah, Palombo, Duncan, Eto’o, Okaka and Muriel.

“Eto’o and Muriel aren’t wingers? Well neither are Eder or Manolo Gabbiadini, but they came back to help out. This is what I ask of my players tomorrow.

“If it’s true that Eto’o and Muriel aren’t quite at the fitness levels of their teammates yet, it is also fair to say they are better than a month ago and have the quality to make the difference.”

Fabrizio Cacciatore and Ezequiel Munoz are still on the treatment table.

Sampdoria squad for Atalanta: Frison, Romero, Viviano; Coda, De Silvestri, Mesbah, Regini, Romagnoli, Silvestre, Wszolek; Acquah, Correa, Duncan, Ivan, Marchionni, Palombo, Rizzo; Bergessio, Djordjevic, Eto'o, Muriel, Okaka
