The current Nazionale Coach came under fire by supporters after a mistaken diagnosis ruled out midfielder Claudio Marchisio for seven months, before Juventus announced there was no cruciate ligament damage.
Sacchi, who led the Azzurri to a second place against Brazil in the USA 1994 World Cup, was not pleased by the controversy.
“Antonio is a great Coach and a very serious person,” he told Tuttosport.
“The problem is that he lives in a country where often good manners come short.
“Conte deserves greater respect by everyone for the work he is doing.”
