Palermo have officially signed midfielder Gaston Brugman from Pescara. “This is a great opportunity for me.”
The 22-year-old Uruguayan talent completed the transfer this afternoon, arriving on loan with option to buy at the end of the season.
He’ll now join with his new teammates at their pre-season training camp in Bad Kleinchirchheim.
“I am very happy to be joining Palermo,” Brugman told Calciomercato.it.
“It is a great opportunity for me and I can’t wait to get started with Coach Beppe Iachini. I chose Palermo because they wanted me the most and this is a club that firmly believes in getting the best out of young players.
“It’ll be a pleasure to work with an experienced Coach like Iachini and play for the fantastic fans of Palermo. It’s also a wonderful city.
“Iachini convinced me precisely because he’s done such good work with young players. I realised how happy people were here thanks to Paulo Dybala, as we exchanged jerseys twice and he told me what a great club it is.
“I’m happy to step up into Serie A and to do so with this jersey. I am a dynamic creative midfielder who is good at taking opponents on. I can be used in any of the midfield roles and not just as a deep-lying playmaker. My idols have always been Andrea Pirlo and Sergio Busquets.”
