Maurizio Sarri was not impressed by Napoli’s 8-0 friendly win. “It’s all extremely slow and bland. We’ve got to speed it up.”
The Partenopei had their first run-out of the summer, crushing local side Anaune Val di Non with an 8-0 scoreline.
“It’s a training session, so it seems strange to me that people are talking about it,” said the former Empoli Coach.
“We are doing everything in an extremely slow and bland way. We have the potential to pass the ball around well, but we’ve got to speed it up. There’s no point taking anything from this training session.”
Lorenzo Insigne shone in a new trequartista role behind the strikers, bagging a first half hat-trick.
“Insigne did well, but we’ll have to understand how much he is prepared to give us when defending. A trequartista is very important in this system.”
Sarri also shrugged off questions about transfer target Sime Vrsaljko of Sassuolo.
“I am only focused on training this squad. I’m not interested in the market and am irritated by Coaches who do that.”
