Fiorentina have officially completed the signature of Davide Astori from Cagliari on loan with an obligation to buy.
The defender spent last season at Roma, but the Giallorossi opted not to make the move permanent at the end of the season.
The 28-year-old was then in talks with Napoli, but a deal collapsed after a disagreement over image rights, and the centre-back has now joined the Viola.
“ACF Fiorentina announce that they have signed the player Davide Astori from Cagliari Calcio on loan, with an obligation to buy,” a statement from the Tuscan side confirmed.
“After graduating from Milan’s youth system, he has gone on to play in Serie A with Cagliari and Roma.
“He has also represented Italy on 10 occasions during his career, scoring once.”
