Fiorentina's Federico Bernardeschi declares they'll 'have to choose between Serie A and Europe', and says he'd prefer the Scudetto.

The Viola made it back to the top of the Serie A table alongside Inter and yesterday defeated Lech Poznan 2-0 in the Europa League.

“It will come to a point where we'll have to choose between the championship and Europe,” he told Sky Sports Italia.

“If it were down to me the objective would be the Scudetto. It seems like a more beautiful target.

“We don't have anything better than the other teams, but we're doing well and I see no reason why we shouldn't believe in it.

“As long as we stay up there we've got hope, though it's going to take a bit of luck too.

“Winning the Scudetto in Florence at the age of 21 would be a dream come true.

“Many teams are competing for it: Inter, Napoli, Roma, Milan and Juventus, whom I believe will rise back.

“We're in the race too, and we hope to stay in it for as long as possible.”

The winger then discussed the victory over Lech Poznan.

“It was a great result because we needed points to get us back on track in the standings.

“Now we can look at the upcoming European games with a more chilled attitude.

“Winning in Poland on such a difficult pitch proved our determination and our character, which can sometimes be more useful than having a beautiful game. We were concrete and that's how we won.”
