Coach Antonio Conte says that 'those who do not understand the value of the Azzurri shirt are inadequate and inappropriate'.
The Coach recently called up his squad for friendlies against Belgium and Romania. Among the players left out was Napoli's Lorenzo Insigne, in a move that many suspect to be disciplinary.
“Wearing the Azzurri shirt as a player and becoming Coach of the national team is a unique privilege, an enormous satisfaction and a really great joy,” he said today, at the event for the presentation of the new Azzurri shirts.
“I don't think there's any need to explain the Azzurri shirt to anyone and those who can't understand it are inadequate and inappropriate.
“But I can count on some lads who embody the spirit and this is very important.”
