Del Neri replaced Andrea Mandorlini this week and already made his debut in a 1-0 Coppa Italia victory over Lega Pro outfit Pavia.

“The mentality has to be of a team that understands it’ll be a fight to the end of the season for safety, but that nothing is decided yet.
“This has been a truly intense week. Empoli are an organised side with individual quality and Marco Giampaolo did very well to continue the work done by Maurizio Sarri.
“Finally we have Jacopo Sala and Luca Siligardi able to start, but we don’t have Juanito Gomez or Giampaolo Pazzini. Rafael is also suspended in goal.
“Luca Toni is undoubtedly the leader of this side. The players now realise they must run for 90 minutes without stopping, as I want to speed the tempo up and bring more intensity.
“I appreciate the dedication with which the players are trying to learn and understand my methods.”
As well as Pazzini and Gomez Taleb, Verona are also missing Rafael Marquez, Francelino Matuzalem, Romulo, Mohamed Fares and Michelangelo Albertazzi.
