Kevin Strootman returned to action for the Roma Primavera side, scoring in a win over Avellino.
The Dutchman has made just six Serie A appearances over the last two seasons as he’s been battling a series of knee injuries.
A return to action appears to be getting closer though, after Strootman played 45 minutes of today’s youth-team match.
In the 12th minute of the match, Umar Saqiq won a penalty for the Giallorossi, and Strootman sent the ‘keeper the wrong way to make the score 2-0.
The Lupi youngsters went on to win the match 6-0, though Strootman was withdrawn at half-time as he continues his recovery.
