The first leg of the Champions League Round of 16 tie went to the Spaniards at the Stadio Olimpico after an even game.

“It was one of our best games of the season against a top team that will fight with another two or three sides to win the Champions League,” Florenzi told Mediaset Premium.

“It was one of our best games of the season against a top team that will fight with another two or three sides to win the Champions League,” Florenzi told Mediaset Premium.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s shot took a huge deflection off Florenzi to loop into the top corner, Florenzi was then denied a clear penalty for a Dani Carvajal tackle and Jese finished off the scoring with an angled drive.

“You need good luck and a bit of common sense. We needed good luck on the deflection and common sense on the penalty.

“We’re upset, because we played really well and did not deserve to lose 2-0. The fact the fans applauded meant they too saw a good Roma who gave their all and fought to the 94th minute.

“You can’t allow Ronaldo anything, but boy I was unlucky as the ball hit me and could’ve been blocked off, gone up in the air or sideways, but it went straight into the corner.

“We will fight hard and allow them nothing at the Bernabeu too.”
