“This will certainly be a very tough game for us and Fiorentina won’t be fatigued by their Europa League efforts because they have such strength in depth throughout the side,” said Reja.

“Paulo Sousa is doing very well and in my view Federico Bernardeschi is Fiorentina’s best player at this moment in time.”

Atalanta are without Carlos Carmona, but Gabriel Paletta returns from injury for a place on the bench.

“Luca Cigarini has recovered and should start with Mauricio Pinilla upfront,” added Reja.

“I still have a few doubts on whether Diamanti will be in the starting XI. The team has improved in physical and psychological terms, so now we just need to get back to picking up three points with the right belief and determination.”

Atalanta squad for Fiorentina: Bassi, Radunovic, Sportiello; Bellini, Brivio, Conti, Dramè, Masiello, Paletta, Stendardo, Toloi; Cigarini, De Roon, Freuler, Gagliardini, D'Alessandro, Kurtic, Migliaccio, Raimondi; Borriello, Diamanti, Gakpè, Gomez, Monachello, Pinilla
