Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti has pulled-out of the Italy squad with injury.

The 23-year-old was named in Antonio Conte’s squad to face Spain and Germany, but was always a doubt for the matches as he’s been struggling with a hamstring injury.

Verratti hasn’t featured for the French champions since his side beat Reims 4-1 in February, and hasn’t completed 90 minutes since a win over Lyon in the Coupe de la Ligue on January 13.

The former Pescara midfielder underwent medical tests at Coverciano this morning, and as expected he’s been given the green light to return to his club for further treatment.
