Gigi Di Biagio hopes Italy’s Under-21 side “will learn and not let this happen again” after a slender 1-0 win in Andorra.

“When you think games are easy and don’t realise they need to be played with the right approach, this is what happens,” Coach Di Biagio told Rai Sport.

“When you think games are easy and don’t realise they need to be played with the right approach, this is what happens,” Coach Di Biagio told Rai Sport.

“We have to mature, learn from this experience and ensure it doesn’t happen again. We were fortunate to get the goal, because by the time we got into gear it could’ve been too late.

“This performance really needs to be worked on in terms of approach and attitude.

“Cerri came on with the right mentality and got the goal that will help boost his confidence. I am happy for him.

“Hopefully when we face Serbia in September it’ll be better in terms of intensity. We are top of the group and that is the important thing at this stage.”
