Official: Avellino sack Marcolin

Serie B side Avellino have sacked Coach Dario Marcolin after less than a month and replaced him with his predecessor Attilio Tesser.

The club were on a poor run of form, having lost their last four matches and without a win since 12 March.

They are currently 13th in Serie B, 13 points adrift of the playoff places, and the club decided to take action.

Marcolin replaced Tesser on 22 March with a deal until the end of the season, but Avellino have opted to recall their former boss.

“U.S. Avellino announces that the Coach Dario Marcolin and his staff have been fired from the technical guidance of the first team,” read a club statement.

“The club thanks the Coach and his assistants for the commitment shown in the role and wish them the best professional success.

“At the same time, we announce that the guidance of the first team has been entrusted to Attilio Tesser and his staff.”
