Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman felt “good” after his first Netherlands start in over two years. 
 
He played 70 minutes in the 1-1 draw with the Republic of Ireland, a friendly played in Dublin last night.
 
“It was great being back with my national team, though obviously I’d have been happier if we had won and played well,” Strootman told Dutch TV.

“I feel good. I would’ve liked to play the whole game, but my club would’ve been angry about that…
 
“In any case, we have another two games and more training sessions.”
