Yesterday it was claimed that the midfielder wants to join the Bianconeri, who are working to lower the €40m asking price.

Now Le Parisien is reporting that, taking advantage of a day off granted by Coach Unai Emery, Matuidi and his agent, Mino Raiola, met with the Old Lady yesterday.

The two parties agreed in principle to a long-term contract, believed to be either three or four years.

However, the newspaper notes that PSG have rejected Juve’s opening offers of between €25m and €30m and are still demanding €40m.

Matuidi’s entourage are believed to be unhappy with this stance, and it’s likely Raiola will attempt to lower the cost.

Emery has declared that he wants the player to remain at Parc Des Princes, but Le Parisien claims he was never even offered a contract extension.

Meanwhile, L’Équipe is also reporting that Matuidi wants to move to Turin, and believes that a definitive agreement is close.

In addition, France Football echoes Le Parisien's report about a contract agreement, claiming it's worth €4.5m for four years, as well as stating that a deal could be found with PSG for around €30m.

RMC Sport also agrees that Matuidi has an agreement with the Italian champions, who have made a first offer of €28m.

PSG are holding out for more, but aren't determined to hold onto the midfielder at all costs and more talks are expected today and at the Champions League draw on Thursday.
