Line-ups: Genoa-Milan

Milan could be Serie A leaders tonight with a victory away to Giovanni Simeone’s Genoa, but there are a few adjustments.

It kicks off in Marassi at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT), follow the build-up and action on our LIVEBLOG.

The Rossoneri are the surprise package of the season, sitting pretty in joint second place with Roma after beating leaders Juventus, closing the gap at the top to just two points.

That means a win tonight would put Vincenzo Montella’s men top of the table for at least 24 hours, as this is the early match in a Serie A midweek round.

An injury crisis has brought out the best in the Rossoneri, specifically 18-year-old Manuel Locatelli, who scored fantastic goals against both Sassuolo and Juventus.

Carlos Bacca and ex-Genoa forward M’Baye Niang lead the way with Keisuke Honda allowing Suso some rest.

Luca Antonelli, Davide Calabria, Riccardo Montolivo, Andrea Bertolacci and Mati Fernandez are still sidelined, so Ignazio Abate is rested in favour of Andrea Poli as a makeshift right-back.

Their 17-year-old goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has reason to celebrate, as it has been exactly one year since his Serie A debut.

Mattia De Sciglio is the Milan captain for this evening.

Genoa lost the Derby della Lanterna to Sampdoria on Saturday and that put a huge dampener on the campaign.

Leonardo Pavoletti made his comeback from a long-term injury at the weekend, playing just a few minutes, and is again on the bench this evening.

Giovanni ‘Cholito’ Simeone leads the attack, as Serge Gakpe is injured and Goran Pandev returns after suspension.

Genoa have won the last two editions of this fixture by 1-0 scorelines, succeeding in three of their last four meetings home and away.

Curiously, these clubs have shared the spoils only once in their last 10 encounters in all venues.
