Edin Dzeko celebrated his hat-trick against Viktoria Plzen and “the first goal was probably my best since I’ve been in Italy.”

The Bosnian found the net three times, including a sensational Cruyff turn and finish from the tightest of angles, in a 4-1 Europa League victory.

“Viktoria are a good side, but in the first half they only had one chance and scored with it,” Dzeko told Sky Sport Italia.

“Viktoria are a good side, but in the first half they only had one chance and scored with it,” Dzeko told Sky Sport Italia.

“Then in the second half Alisson did really well. My first goal was probably my best since I’ve been in Italy, especially as it was with my left foot.

“I feel in good shape, it was important to win tonight and we have qualified for the next round. The way I play is working all over the pitch, I don’t just stand there and wait for the ball. I want to play with the team.

“The defeat to Atalanta at the weekend was a heavy blow, but it’s water under the bridge. Now we must focus on the future.”
