Napoli have officially signed Leandrinho for €600,000, announced Brazilian club Ponte Preta.
The 18-year-old left-sided winger already has 11 goals in just 16 caps for Brazil at Under-17 level.
He can also play on the right or as a trequartista behind the strikers.
Leandrinho already underwent his medical and spent time at Napoli’s training ground earlier this month.
During the statement, Ponte Preta noted that Leandrinho “no longer wanted to play for the team he was contracted to.”
“President Vanderlei Pereira and I have been in Italy and after long negotiations with the director general of Napoli we obtained compensation, which will be paid in February,” said Ponte Preta financial director Gustavo Valio.
“Since the player clearly did not want to feature for Ponte anymore and opted for the Italian team, we made every effort to ensure the club’s rights were respected.”
