Inter director Piero Ausilio notes notes Roberto Gagliardini was “the number one objective” and there won’t be any more signings in January.

“The transfer market is a long-term affair and we planned everything. Gagliardini was the number one objective and we are happy that we got him, because that doesn’t always happen,” he told Mediaset Premium.

“We believe in Gagliardini and don’t count the number of Serie A games he has played, but how he played them. We are fully aware with a young player we must have the patience to let him make mistakes, grow and improve.

"You can't start to doubt Gagliardini's quality because Inter signed him rather than someone else.

“We can say that we’re done when it comes to incoming players. Now we need to send three or four out, considering also the Primavera players who are training with the squad. Ever Banega and Geoffrey Kondogbia will stay.

“As for the summer, I won’t make names or promises, but the most important thing is that we have strong owners who can be relied upon.

“UEFA remain vigil on Inter’s books and Suning know that, but it doesn’t mean we can’t make some great signings. The owners know what they want and what can be done.”
