The Grifone shocked Serie A with a 3-1 victory over Juventus, but it’s been downhill ever since with a 0-0 draw at Chievo and five consecutive defeats.
“The 4-3 loss to Palermo was the kind of game you see once every 10 years. The reaction against Torino was more than good. I don’t want to waste time thinking about what went wrong, as I’d prefer to focus on getting the new players settled and bring back some self-confidence.
“I am sorry for my players, but I don’t see the negatives. They give their all in training and then can’t express those ideas in a match situation the way they want to.
“When we lack the organisation of a team unit, we’re prone to committing more individual errors too. We have to get back to playing my style of football, then we’ll see fewer errors.
“I cannot think of a drastic change of system. It did work and we’ve got to get back to when it worked.”
Juric took Crotone to their historic first ever promotion into Serie A last summer and they have struggled since he left.
“If you look at the recent matches, Crotone were only ever beaten in the final minutes. They play in a solid way and every game was tight except for the Inter one. It’s going to be very difficult.”
The Coach confirmed hitman Simeone is “in doubt, as he had flu and that sapped a bit of his strength. Mauricio Pinilla has done very well since the first day he arrived, so he is a real option.”
Miguel Veloso and Mattia Perin are out of action, with Serge Gakpe at the Africa Cup of Nations.
