Inter Sporting Director Piero Ausilio has once again dismissed rumours linking the Nerazzurri to Lionel Messi, warning such talk 'deludes the fans'.

The club have been linked with the Argentinian superstar for some time, but the 42-year-old admitted the club were restricted by Financial Fair Play rules.

"To speak about Messi would be to delude the fans,” Ausilio told Mediaset Premium.

"Of course, the club is solid, we have resources and ambitions, but there are parameters set by UEFA which we can not ignore.

"Arrivals in January? I think that our team is well-placed as it is, there are some areas where we can improve, but we should not have to do this in the January transfer window.

"We did what we had to with the addition of Roberto Gagliardini, now we'll have to make some outgoings.

"Finding better players than who we have already is not easy, but we will endeavor to build an increasingly strong team."
