Inter have been in close contact with the entourage of Bento as they work to line up a summer deal, but are now facing a real threat from the Premier League for the Athletico Paranaense goalkeeper.

The Nerazzurri have already started to look ahead to the summer transfer window and are keen to start working towards the future, wanting to prepare for a post Yann Sommer world. Whilst the Swiss veteran has shined this season, it’s clear that he isn’t a long-term option.

Inter are not planning to retain Emil Audero for the foreseeable future, prompting them to identify Bento as an interesting option to take over from Sommer down the line. The 24-year-old has continued to impress with Athletico Paranaense and recently made his debut for the Brazil national team.

Bento situation

Page 25 of today’s Gazzetta dello Sport details how Inter recently held a new round of talks with Bento and his entourage, where the Athletico Paranaense goalkeeper made it clear that he’d love to join the club in the summer.

The Nerazzurri will first need to raise funds to snap up the €20m-valued goalkeeper, but cannot wait for too long as at least one Premier League club have registered interest in the 24-year-old. A further round of talks will be held in the coming weeks as the Milanese club continue their chase.
