Riccardo Montolivo would be a good addition to the Milan squad, says club legend Cesare Maldini.
The midfielder, 26, will leave Fiorentina either in January or at the end of the season after refusing to extend his contract.
Montolivo's deal expires in June – which means he will be available on a Bosman at the end of the season – and the Rossoneri have been linked.
"I thought Montolivo did well for Italy in the recent games," the former Milan player, father of Paolo Maldini, told Lady Radio.
"He's comporting himself in an excellent manner. Despite the fact that he is coming towards the end of his contract, he's still giving his all to Fiorentina.
"It is obvious to everybody that he is a player who could do well for Milan."
Montolivo, who has been stripped of the Viola captaincy this term, has also been linked with Inter, Bayern Munich and Manchester United.
