Mazzarri silent, Cavani defiant

Napoli Coach Walter Mazzarri won't talk to the media ahead of today's Catania game, but Edinson Cavani's agent insists there is “no problem.”

The tactician did not hold his traditional Press conference on Friday and will not give interviews ahead of today's 17.00 kick-off in Sicily.

It's unclear why Mazzarri has taken this step, though rumours include his apparent irritation at being made to wait for post-match interviews after Wednesday's 2-0 win over Udinese.

Meanwhile, Hugo Campagnaro has not made the trip so he can rest ahead of the Bayern Munich clash, while Cavani could be on the bench.

“Edi is not tired and he is happy with the very important victory against Udinese,” assured agent Claudio Anellucci on Radio Crc.

“It's not a problem if he hasn't scored in a while, as the work he is doing for the team is still extremely important. Edi puts his heart into everything and I repeat the ‘goal problem' does not exist.”
