Inter President Massimo Moratti shared Leonardo's decisions against Bayern and is optimistic about a victory in Munich.
“I'd say it was a good game that could've ended with any result, but it finished with the worst, as Inter had some great chances,” he said of last night's 1-0 home Champions League defeat.
“We had such bad luck conceding right at the last minute, so there was no time to react. As for the second leg, Inter must win with a goal to spare, then you can find yourself on penalties or having won it, so the situation is not impossible. It also depends on our luck.”
Diego Milito scored a brace in the Final when these sides met back in May, but was injured for the first leg and Giampaolo Pazzini ineligible.
“We were missing a centre-forward who could give depth to the squad. Inter had to change the style of play a little bit, which for me went very well as we were dangerous, but clearly this was an important chance,” continued Moratti.
“I have not yet analysed the game, but we were all upset about the defeat, not the performance. Leonardo made the right choices for his side and I wouldn't have done anything different.”
The match was decided by a Julio Cesar howler in stoppages, handing Mario Gomez the winning tap-in.
“This goalkeeper has done so many miracles for us between the posts, so every now and then an error can happen. It's not a serious situation.
“Now we must focus on Sampdoria on Sunday and thankfully in Serie A we will have Pazzini back in the centre-forward role.”
