Muslera will join Galatasaray

Nestor Fernando Muslera has revealed that he is on the verge of leaving Lazio for Turkish giants Galatasaray.

The goalkeeper has been made available for transfer given that his contract expires in 2012 and talks over an extension have collapsed.

"I've received offers from Spain, but I have chosen Galatasaray," the Uruguayan custodian confirmed.

"They were the most insistent club that wanted me. I'm going to Turkey to be successful."

The World Cup 2010 shot-stopper, who will be 25 later this month, joined the Biancocelesti in 2007 from Nacional.

It's understood that Muslera, who was on €1.4m a campaign in Rome, will sign a contract until 2016 worth €2.5m a year – with bonuses that could earn him an extra €300,000.

The South American was also wanted by Atletico Madrid and Sevilla.

It's unclear what deal the two clubs have agreed, but Lorik Cana could be involved as part of the terms as the Albanian is set to join Lazio from Galatasaray.
