Udinese: 'Napoli made Sanchez bid'

“Napoli have presented an interesting economic offer for Alexis Sanchez,” announced Udinese patron Giampaolo Pozzo.

The Chile international has been in negotiations with both Manchester City and Barcelona, but this is a surprise revelation.

“Sanchez playing for Napoli? Nothing is impossible,” Pozzo told Radio Kiss Kiss.

“Aurelio De Laurentiis wants to do things on a grand scale, seeing as he presented an interesting economic offer for Sanchez.

“It's a complicated operation and we await the end of the Copa America to work out who are the real contenders. The player's intentions will be decisive, as these deals need all three parties to agree.”

Sanchez has made it very clear he wants to join Barcelona, but that was before Napoli made a genuine bid.

It is possible the San Paolo side could convince Sanchez to stay in Serie A with guaranteed Champions League group phase football.

They would also allow him more first team football than Barcelona.

There are problems, though, as Udinese already have a transfer in place with Napoli that has hit a brick wall.

A fee was set for Gokhan Inler some weeks ago, but the player has still not agreed personal terms.

“We're running out of time,” added Pozzo. “If on Monday Inler hasn't completed the transfer, then he'll join us for pre-season training.

“In my view, the player will stay with us. I don't think the lad is asking for the moon. Napoli need to push a little bit.”
