Conte's recipe for Juve success

Antonio Conte says his Juventus side will need to be ready both mentally and tactically if they are to return to winning ways.

Conte replaced Luigi Del Neri after another problematic campaign in Turin and he's keen for the outfit to get back on the road to glory.

"The important thing that we are working on is to get back that spirit, the one that has always belonged to Juventus," he stated.

"We have to have a great desire to fight, to come off the pitch with our jersey wet with sweat. We have to know that we are worthy of Juventus and that we are Juventus."

It remains to be seen how 4-4-2/4-2-4 boss Conte will field his side, especially following the arrival of deep playmaker Andrea Pirlo from Milan.

"Pirlo, apart from technique, possesses great professionalism. It's reductive to just talk about him with regards to tactics," he continued.

"If I look at Barcelona I see seven players who don't know how to defend and yet they still win. It's more about having an idea of how to play football, it's about organisation."

The club have tried a variety of Coaches since they were promoted back to the top flight in 2007, with men such as Claudio Ranieri, Ciro Ferrara and Alberto Zaccheroni, as well as Del Neri, failing to keep their job.

"I'm very calm because I have a club behind myself who appointed me knowing all of the positives and the negatives," Conte added.

"There is good synergy between myself, directors Beppe Marotta and Fabio Paratici, as there is with President Andrea Agnelli.

"A great club and a great team make a great Coach. We'll certainly have problems in the next year, but the club will stand by me.

"When I signed I didn't have any minimum objectives. That is not in my character. I want to win and we'll give our all to do so."

Juventus have been busy in the transfer market so far, but they still have much to do on the buying and selling front.

"It's obvious that every Coach would like to start the season with his squad 95 per cent complete, but that's hard to do. We have clear ideas about the transfer market."
