Pioli focused on Juventus

Stefano Pioli admits his Chievo future is unclear, but wants to focus on Juventus first. “We're not safe yet.”

The Flying Donkeys have 42 points and are practically sure of their spot in Serie A next season even before meeting the Old Lady on Monday night.

“I think there has been too much talk about the future when this season is anything but over,” warned the Coach.

“We still need to put our safety under lock and key, which means avoiding a lapse in concentration.

Chievo track Hammer Reid

Chievo are reportedly making a bee-line for West Ham United defender Winston Reid this summer.

The Flying Donkeys look to have all but secured their Serie A status and are planning for next season.

Reid is a New Zealand international centre-back, who also played for Denmark at Under-21 level, and his contract with the Hammers expires in June 2013.

It is reported Chievo directors were spotted in the stands to watch Reid over the last few weeks, even though he has barely featured this season.

Pellissier expects Chievo stay

Sergio Pellissier expects to still be playing his football for Chievo next season, but he doesn't know who will be bossing him.

"I'm happy in Verona," the veteran striker noted. "I think I will be staying at the club for next season.

"The only way that will change is if the club decide to show me the door or they receive an offer that they can't refuse."

Mantovani has 'numerous' admirers

Chievo stopper Andrea Mantovani is a wanted man. "Clubs in Italy and abroad would like him," said his agent.

Mantovani is one the Verona club's most prized assets and he was reportedly close to leaving last summer.

A year later and the defender is still admired with the likes of Fiorentina and Napoli now associated with his name.

"I can confirm that there are numerous sides who are interested," Graziano Battistini noted when questioned by TMW.

Constant flattered by Roma interest

Chievo midfielder Kevin Constant says he is flattered to be linked with a move to Roma this summer.

The 23-year-old Guinea international has been a revelation in his first season in Serie A.

Asked if he knew of Roma's interest, Constant said: "Yes, I know. Roma have inquired about me.

"It's an honour, a real pleasure.

"Knowing that I am being linked to such an important club gives me great satisfaction.

"In my heart, I hoped that I'd have a season like this one, but it was a hope.

Sorrentino rejects summer move

Stefano Sorrentino has categorically ruled out a summer move away from Serie A minnows Chievo Verona.

The custodian was linked with Juventus and Genoa last summer, but he ended up staying at the Bentegodi.

Recent whispers have suggested that he could be targeted by bigger clubs at the end of this season, but a switch doesn't seem on the cards.

“I don't feel as if I'm set to leave Chievo,” the Italian noted. “After all, I extended my contract until 2013 in December.

Pioli demands Roma upset

Stefano Pioli has warned Chievo “are not safe yet” and must fight Roma tooth and nail in the lunchtime kick-off.

The Easter weekend round is all compressed into Saturday, starting at 11.30am UK time at the Stadio Olimpico.

“We are not safe yet. This isn't scaremongering. It's realism,” noted Coach Pioli after climbing to 39 points with a win over Bologna.

“I think the threshold for feeling absolutely free from danger is 41 points. I told the lads to concentrate on Roma, as our campaign did not end last Sunday.

Pioli tipped for Palermo job

Chievo boss Stefano Pioli is said to be the favourite to get the Palermo job next season, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.

Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini recently sacked Serse Cosmi and brought back his predecessor Delio Rossi after just four games in charge.

Rossi isn't seen as a long-term solution partly because of his inability to get Palermo to defend well, although he is expected to remain in place until the end of the season.

Pioli: 'Chievo not afraid of Inter'

Stefano Pioli hopes to add to Inter's nightmare today. “We beat them already this season and can do it again. We're not afraid of them.”

The Nerazzurri have been suddenly plunged into crisis after back-to-back defeats to Milan and Schalke, putting their Scudetto and Champions League hopes on the edge.

In today's 17.00 UK time kick-off, Leonardo's men welcome Chievo to San Siro, a side that beat them 2-1 earlier this season.
