Inter and Milan in talks for Constant

Chievo's versatile midfielder Kevin Constant claims both Inter and Milan are interested in signing him.

The 23-year-old has proven a revelation so far this season following his move from Chateauroux.

Earlier this week, Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri admitted that he would like to bring Constant to the club, but "bureaucratic question" are hampering negotiations.

Chievo have asked that Milan loan Constant back to them for the rest of the season, something which doesn't suit Allegri's plans, as he needs a midfielder now.

Milan derby for Constant

Both Milan clubs are vying to sign Chievo midfield playmaker Kevin Constant, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The 23-year-old trequartista has been an absolute revelation this season following his move from Chateauroux.

He has played in a number of positions in Gialloblu, showing a highly regarded versatility in midfield.

La Gazzetta understands Chievo value the Guinea international at between €4m and €5m.

Milan are said to be very keen on Constant, but Inter apparently have the edge.

Pioli wants Juventus scalp

Chievo have already taken some prestigious scalps this season and Stefano Pioli warns Juventus: “We raise our game against the big clubs.”

The Flying Donkeys caused a sensation when beating Inter, Genoa and Napoli as well as their 2-2 draw with Roma.

“Juventus represented an important part of my playing career, but now they are an opponent,” said the Coach.

As a defender he played for the Old Lady between 1984 and 1987. He left to join Hellas Verona, the arch-rivals of Chievo.

Del Neri sees Chievo Christmas gift

Gigi Del Neri wants Juventus to “end the year on a winning note,” is quite glad to be out of Europe and has more injury concerns against Chievo.

“Chievo are a team with a thousand reasons to do well and they always manage to find the right motivation,” said the former Flying Donkeys Coach.

“You don't stay in Serie A for long if you don't have certain qualities. It will take the best Juventus to bring home the three points.

There are doubts over whether Alberto Aquilani can play either, while Felipe Melo is suspended.

Totti blasts Chievo pitch

Roma captain Francesco Totti has launched a scathing attack on the state of Chievo's pitch.

The talismanic playmaker feels that the terrible conditions contributed to Roma's inability to hold on to a 2-0 lead in Verona.

Roma were pegged back to a 2-2 scoreline and now lie eighth in Serie A, 10 points adrift of League leaders Milan after 15 games.

Writing in Il Corriere dello Sport ahead of Wednesday's all-important clash with Cluj in Romania, Totti pulled no punches in his criticism.

Low morale in Roma camp

Claudio Ranieri is having difficulty lifting his players after Roma's 2-2 draw with Chievo on Saturday.

A number of the team's key protagonists are reportedly disillusioned with Roma's results and Ranieri's decision-making in recent weeks.

There was a great deal of surprise when Ranieri revolutionised the starting XI in Verona, which saw Francesco Totti, Marco Borriello and Jeremy Menez all benched.

Julio Sergio takes the blame

Julio Sergio has taken responsibility for Roma's 2-2 draw at Chievo. “I should've done better on the first goal.”

The Giallorossi were leading 2-0 and looked comfortable at the Bentegodi, but the comeback was sparked by Davide Moscardelli's shot bouncing off the goalkeeper's gloves.

“The ball took an odd bounce, but even then I should've done better on the first goal,” said Julio Sergio.

It was a difficult game all round due to the state of the pitch after heavy rainfall and snow.

Line-ups: Adriano starts in Verona

Roma field Adriano from the start in their trip to Chievo alongside Mirko Vucinic, as Claudio Ranieri makes big changes.

The Giallorossi must get back on track after their defeat at Palermo, but also rest stars ahead of the crunch Champions League match with Cluj.

John Arne Riise, Aleandro Rosi, Simone Perrotta and Juan are absent, while Daniele De Rossi does make it despite suffering from a stomach upset this week.

Coach Ranieri makes numerous changes to his side, especially in attack, where Adriano gets a very rare start alongside Vucinic.

Ranieri: 'Impossible to play football'

Claudio Ranieri blamed the state of the Bentegodi pitch for Roma's chaotic 2-2 draw with Chievo. “It was like playing beach soccer.”

The conditions were decisive in the end, as the final goal came about when Rodrigo Taddei made a foul throw. From that move, the Flying Donkeys then created their strike.

“The line from the rugby pitch here was visible, but nobody noticed. I did and so did the fourth official, so I was shouting for Taddei to come back,” explained the Coach.
