Serie A Week 35 referees

The referees for Serie A Week 35 have been announced, with Daniele Orsato given Friday’s Derby della Mole between Juventus and Torino.

The match has been brought forward so it does not clash with the 70th anniversary of the Superga air disaster.

This time last year, Orsato reportedly received police protection after he drew controversy for his handling of Juve’s 3-2 win against Inter in the Derby d’Italia.

Romagnoli banned for one game

Milan defender Alessio Romagnoli has been banned for only one game, despite his straight red card at Torino.

Romagnoli was dismissed for sarcastically applauding Marco Guida towards the end of Milan’s 2-0 defeat on Sunday.

There had been talk of at least a two-match ban for the captain, but the FIGC ruled on Tuesday that he would only miss the Rossoneri’s next game against Bologna.

Di Carlo: Happy to stay at Chievo

Chievo boss Domenico Di Carlo says he is ‘happy’ at the club and would be ‘honoured’ to lead them in Serie B next season.

Chievo held Parma to a 1-1 draw thanks to a Riccardo Meggiorini equaliser, but the striker had a second goal chalked off by VAR and Di Carlo was unhappy about the decision.

“I don’t want to be controversial about our disallowed goal,” he told La Domenica Sportiva

“Today the referee has officiated a good game except for disallowing our goal.”

D'Aversa: 'Parma almost safe'

Parma Coach Roberto D’Aversa rued a missed chance by Gervinho and their failure to take the three points against Chievo, but admitted his side are now “almost safe” from relegation.

The Ducali drew 1-1 away to already relegated Chievo today and that stalemate made it four draws in a row for the Gialloblu, who are now in 15th place, eight points ahead of Empoli.
