Sarri: Chelsea working on Higuain

Maurizio Sarri has suggested that Chelsea are 'working very hard' on a deal to sign Milan striker Gonzalo Higuain.

Chelsea are thought to be on the verge of agreeing a loan deal with Juventus for Higuain, who played his best football under Sarri at Napoli and only played the second half of Milan’s Supercoppa defeat on Wednesday.

When asked at a Press conference about how close his club were to the Argentine, he replied: “I don’t know.

Milan deny Higuain farewell

Milan have reportedly denied claims that Gonzalo Higuain bid farewell to his teammates on Thursday evening.

Several Italian publications reported Higuain had held a farewell party ahead of his likely move to Chelsea.

However, MilanNews has countered with a rebuttal, citing confirmation from the club that there was no such party.

Instead, the Juventus loanee would have dined with his colleagues to celebrate Samu Castillejo’s 24th birthday.

PSG dive in for Paredes?

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly dived in front of Chelsea with a €35m bid for Zenit St Petersburg midfielder Leandro Paredes.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio’s website, PSG have taken advantage of Chelsea’s failure to submit an official offer for Paredes.

Report: Higuain in Milan farewell

Gonzalo Higuain has bid farewell to his Milan teammates ahead of his proposed switch to Chelsea.

Reports in Italy on Friday morning claimed Higuain held a ‘farewell party’ the night before, highlighting how the Juventus-owned striker’s relationship with the Milan squad ‘never cracked’.

However, they agree the Argentine’s rapport with the club broke down and he is expected to complete his move to Chelsea before next Thursday, when they face Tottenham Hotspur in the League Cup semi-finals.

Juve want Emerson for Higuain?

Juventus are reportedly hoping to include Emerson Palmieri in the deal that takes Gonzalo Higuain to Chelsea.

According to Tuttosport, Chelsea could avoid paying €9m to loan Higuain until the end of the season by sending Emerson to Juve on a temporary basis.
