You would have thought Milan learned from the 2008-09 season. The return, on loan, of a 31-year-old Andriy Shevchenko was pretty disastrous. Despite having been so dismal at Chelsea, his legendary status at Milan meant he was welcomed back with open arms. He scored no goals, was played out of position and eventually sent back to London.

Hasta la vista Kaka!

Ricardo Kaka could be set for a return to Serie A this summer with Milan. Dylan Fahy profiles his less-than-successful stint in La Liga with Real Madrid.

On Tuesday morning, Real Madrid published the names of 23 players called up to the team’s first friendly of the 2012-13 pre-season schedule against Oviedo. Half-an-hour later, one name had been removed, that of Ricardo Kaka. Expected upon his 2009 arrival in the Spanish capital to be their leading light alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, the club were silently erasing his name from their plans in 2012.

Mou uncertain of Kaka’s future

Real Madrid Coach Jose Mourinho has admitted that he is just as uncertain as Milan over the prospect of Ricardo Kaka returning to Italy this summer.

Mourinho held a 45-minute meeting with the Brazilian attacker earlier this, where he reportedly made it clear to the 30-year-old that he will not be in his first team plans for the coming season.
