'Toro & Chelsea like Pereyra'

Roberto Pereyra’s agent confesses Torino and Chelsea both ‘like’ the Watford midfielder but ‘almost categorically’ rules out a January transfer.

Pereyra’s good form for Watford this season has seen him linked with both clubs, and Sergio Furlan admitted the Argentine - who joined the Hornets from Juventus in 2016 - was eyeing a return to European football.

“2018 was the year of his take-off,” he told Tuttosport.

Official: Okaka joins Udinese

Udinese have officially signed striker Stefano Okaka from Watford on loan until the end of the season.

The 29-year-old has been out of Italy since 2015, playing for Anderlecht and then Watford.

As both Udinese and Watford are owned by the Pozzo family, any option to make the move permanent would be simple to work out.

Okaka was not part of Watford’s plans this season, managing just 47 minutes of football spread out over three competitive appearances.

Napoli try again for Lobotka

Napoli have returned to negotiations with Celta Vigo for midfielder Stanislav Lobotka, but face competition from Everton, Watford and PSG.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Slovakia international is once again on the Partenopei’s radar.

He had been close to a move over the summer, but eventually remained in Spain.

In the January transfer window, the price-tag remains €30m and Napoli are prepared to have another attempt.

Pereyra open to Torino transfer

Roberto Pereyra is reported to be ‘enthusiastic’ about quitting Watford for a reunion with Walter Mazzarri at Torino.

‘Tucu’ Pereyra was brought to Watford by Mazzarri in 2016, with a €13m deal from Juventus.

According to Tuttosport, the Argentine is ‘enthusiastic’ about a return to Italy and the opportunity of working with Mazzarri again at Torino.

The Granata are pushing for a place in Europe and are currently on their longest unbeaten Serie A away streak since the 1970s.

Okaka set for Udinese

Watford striker Stefano Okaka is expected to undergo a medical with Udinese in the next few days.

Gianluca Di Marzio’s website reports Okaka will arrive in Udine on Sunday and take his medical 24 hours later.

The Sky Sport Italia journalist explains the 29-year-old will join the Zebrette on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.

The former Italy international last played in Serie A with Sampdoria, leaving in the summer of 2015 to sign for Anderlecht and then Watford.

Report: Okaka ready for Udinese

Udinese have agreed a deal to bring Stefano Okaka back to Serie A after his spell at Watford, according to Sky Sport Italia.

Both clubs are owned by the Pozzo family, so the negotiations were more than anything between Udinese and the player.

It’s expected to be a loan deal with option to buy at the end of the season.

The 29-year-old sometime Italy international has not played in the Peninsula since leaving Sampdoria in 2015 for RSC Anderlecht, then joined Watford for €6m in the summer of 2016.

Premier League offers for Defrel

Roma-owned Gregoire Defrel is on loan at Sampdoria, but received interest from Fulham, Watford and West Ham United.

The 27-year-old forward joined from Sassuolo in the summer of 2017 for a total €20m and was sent out on loan to Sampdoria for €1.5m this season.

According to Sky Sport Italia and La Gazzetta dello Sport, it is possible he will intercept that spell six months early and go to England.

There is said to be interest from three Premier League clubs, namely Fulham, Watford and West Ham United.

Watford hand Zeegelaar to Udinese

Udinese are reportedly on the verge of signing Dutch left-back Marvin Zeegelaar from Watford.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, a deal is practically done for the 28-year-old.

He joined Watford in the summer of 2017 from Sporting CP for €3m.

It is expected to be a loan move, as both Watford and Udinese are owned by the Pozzo family, so regularly exchange players.

While Zeegelaar had 13 competitive appearances last season for Watford with two assists, he is yet to play this term.

Mazzarri has history of health scares

Walter Mazzarri has been ordered complete rest by Torino medics and won’t travel to Cagliari with the team, but it is not his first health scare.

Mazzarri was taken ill on Friday evening after their training session and the 57-year-old went to the Molinette hospital in Turin for tests.

Torino: Mazzarri taken ill

Torino confirm Coach Walter Mazzarri was taken ill and will not be working until “further tests have been completed.”

There had already been reports that the former Sampdoria, Inter, Napoli and Watford tactician was taken to hospital in Turin last night.

A statement from Torino this afternoon confirmed Mazzarri had recovered quickly, but has been signed off work by the club’s medical staff “as a precaution until further tests can be completed.”
