Report: Mazzarri in hospital

There are reports Torino Coach Walter Mazzarri was taken to hospital last night after feeling unwell, but it is not thought to be serious.

The former Napoli, Inter and Watford tactician is reportedly in the Molinette Hospital in Turin, where he was brought last night from home, according to Calcionews24.com.

He underwent tests and the initial suggestion is that there is nothing to be too worried about and he could well be on the bench for Monday’s Serie A game against Cagliari.

'Pereyra focused on Watford, but...'

Roberto Pereyra’s agent has stated that while the midfielder is ‘only thinking about Watford’, he ‘remains tied’ to Italy.

Pereyra played for Udinese and Juventus in Serie A, winning two Scudetti with the Old Lady and playing in a Champions League Final, before joining Watford two years ago.

The Argentine’s recent good form has seen him linked with the likes of Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea, and Sergio Furlan was asked about the speculation.

No more Di Natales

Udinese don’t have Toto anymore and, as Richard Hall explains, their entire model seems to be a thing of the past.

The Stadio Friuli looked different back then, certainly not as modern but it still had atmosphere. On the March 8 2014, Antonio Di Natale was wheeling away in celebration after tapping home from close range. There was nothing special about the goal, only that it came against Milan and it would go towards his league tally of 17 for the season. Even back then the cracks were beginning to show in the ‘Udinese model’ but now in 2018, as they face Milan again, the Zebrette are a shadow of their former selves. Only now there in no ‘Toto’ to save them.

Mazzarri predicted Inter downfall

Walter Mazzarri said Torino “just didn’t play in the first half,” but he did expect Inter to fall away as the game wore on.

The Granata fought back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 at San Siro with Andrea Belotti and Soualiho Meite showing great first touches to surprise defenders.

“We actually played better against Roma, even though we lost that game,” insisted the Coach in a Press conference.

Sturaro to Watford collapses

Stefano Sturaro’s move to Watford has reportedly collapsed, as the English club couldn’t agree with Juventus on the structure of the loan.

Juve have been trying to move the Italian international on all summer, and it was reported this morning that a deal had been struck with Watford.
